Privacy Policy for Mapper / Mapper Plus App

Privacy Policy

1. Data Collect / Purpose : this app collects your personal location and markers information through GPS or WiFi. You can choose which way to make the collection. The only purposes for the collection are :

  1. For loading the corresponding map
  2. Place markers on the map, indicating where you are and where you are interested
  3. Draw a tracking path of the locations that your had gone on the map.

2. Data Storage : the personal location and markers information are stored in this app's private storage area. Our company do not store your information on any other places. There is no expire period for the information but the data is over-write itself whenever new data is received. For Plus's version, you can load and save your data for a longer time using the external SDcard that came with your device. The data is saved in a special text format without encryption. Our company is not a partner with the third parties listed below, so we do not intended to share any information with the third parties except the need for the functioning of this app.

3. Data Transfer : As this app need to download maps, there is an internet connection between one of the third party, OpenStreetMap and the app. However, this connection is not encrypted. Therefore, the risk level of the connection would be the same as to visit a normal web site. For Plus's version, when you choose to load and save data in external SDcard, we cannot guarantee the security of the data in external SDcard.

4. Third parties : two companies provides their open resources so that this app can work. The map used by this app is provided by OpenStreetMap and a software library (API) used by this app is provided by OpenLayers. We get their resources from their web site's download area. Their web sites are :

  1. OpenStreetMap : http://www.openstreetmap.org
  2. OpenLayers : http://openlayers.org

We cannot guarantee that your personal location data are not recorded by both companies.
